Ford Tri-Motor Returns! Sept. 12-15, 2019

Join us to experience the Golden Age of Aviation on the Ford Tri-Motor! The chapter is sponsoring a return tour stop of Liberty Aviation's "Big Ford" Tri-Motor, Sept. 12-15 at Wayne County Airport.

In the 1920's and '30's, Ford’s Tri-Motor aircraft, nicknamed the “Tin Goose,” was designed to build a new market: airline travel. To overcome concerns of engine reliability, Ford specified three engines and added features for passenger comfort, such as an enclosed cabin. Originally used for trans-continental flights by TWA, Northeastern Ohioans might remember flying in a Tin Goose on Island Airlines, taking you on a hop to the Lake Erie islands, from 1946-1985.

During the tour stop, flights on the Ford Tri-Motor will be available to the public, and can be scheduled through EAA at www.FlyTheFord.org or by calling 1-877-952-5395.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Contact Arturo Hernandez at  303-569-9347  or email him at artghernandez83@gmail.com for more information.
